Description of the machine
The broaching method ensures shortest lead times, highest precision and largest surface quality. The placement of larger workpieces is simple, because they are only slid onto a mounting arbour. An attachment is usually not required. In profile-held tools, the workpiece is only supported externally. The production and the use of broaching machines is classified by the work area of machine building and is used to produce keyways, polygonal and polyhedral profiles for calibrating boreholes, as well as for external broaching. Modern broaching machines strike a balance between compact design and maximum power delivery. Despite highly complex technology and intricate components, the control concept has a simple design and can be operated intuitively. Likewise, the focus is on quick and simple implementation of the set-up process to operate cost efficiently, especially for small batch sizes.
